Established in the tradition of Zen Buddhist temples in Japan, the Kyogen Zen Center is a place of retreat and meditation. It offers an opportunity to return to ourselves--not to remove ourselves from the world, but to permit us to be even more present in each moment, in the awareness of life itself.

Bokushu Sakamoto was born in Japan in 1943.  His personal spiritual search led him to become a zen priest.  He was ordained in 2001 in the tradition of the Soto School, under Aoki Joo roshi, a direct disciple of Hakusan Kojun kobutsu.
